The Coin Register Profile

The Coin Register is a small slim enclosure, made from 3mm, black, ABS, normal grain plastic. The enclosure actually fits inside a fruit machine, making its slim design essential for avoiding all of the internal machine mechanisms.

Due to the application of the enclosure the design of the box does not need to be pleasing to the eye. The result is that the design focuses on practicality alone. No screen printing or painting is required and no elements of styling are needed.

The design is not strictly a D Type classification due to the fact that there are only 3 component pieces of plastic. The base and the lid clip together to form the majority of the enclosure with the third component clipping onto the back of the design. This third panel is simply clipped into place to aid the user of the application once attached to the fruit machine.

There are 5 cut outs on the design, 4 for electrical connectors, and one to use for removing the back panel. Additionally there is a cluster of 3 small holes which acts as a cooling area for the electronics.

Internally there is one supporting wall which gives strength to the overall enclosure, and 2 sets of circuit board slots which hold all of the electronics securely in place.

Finally there is one key hole cut out on the base of the design, this becomes the fixing point of the enclosure onto the internal wall of the fruit machine.
